At SIU, we believe no Saluki should have to choose between food and their education. The Saluki Food Pantry is here to provide support to Salukis facing food insecurity, ensuring they have access to nutritious meals so they can focus on their academic and personal success.

Where to Find Us

📍 Location: Lower Level of the Student Center
🚶 Directions: Take the stairs or elevator next to Starbucks down to the Lower Level. Walk straight ahead, and you’ll find the pantry on your right.

How It Works

  • Cost? Absolutely free!
  • How much food can I receive? Enough to provide for yourself and any household members for approximately 3 days.
  • What’s available? A variety of non-perishable food items.

First-Time Visitors

To make your visit as smooth as possible, we ask that all first-time guests complete a short survey. This helps us improve our services while keeping your personal information confidential.

Pantry Hours

Get Involved

There are two ways to get involved in the Saluki Food Pantry.

  • Volunteer to work in the Saluki Food Pantry! Volunteers assist students with completing the survey and inventorying donations. There are no volunteer opportunities available at this time.
  • Host a food drive with your organization!

  • If you're interested in hosting a food drive or have questions about volunteering, please email foodpantry@siu.edu.
