EMPLOYMENT

There are a variety of employment opportunities within the Student Center. Student Work positions exist in all areas of the Student Center.

To be eligible for Student Employment you must meet the following enrollment requirements.

Enrollment Requirements

U.S. CITIZENS AND PERMANENT RESIDENTS

  • Undergraduate – fall, spring 6 credit hours, summer 3 credit hours
  • Graduate – fall & spring 6 credit hours, summer 3 credit hours
  • Graduate (and also employed as a graduate assistant) – fall & spring 8 credit hours, summer 3 credit hours.
  • Doctoral Student (achieved candidacy) & Master Students (last semester)  – fall & spring 6 credit hours, summer 3 credit hours

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

  • Undergraduate (established) – fall & spring 12 credit hours, summer 3 credit hours
  • Undergraduate (new) – fall & spring 12 credit hours, summer 6 credit hours
  • Graduate – fall & spring 9 credit hours, summer 3 credit hours
  • Graduate (and also employed as a graduate assistant) – fall & spring 8 credit hours, summer 3 credit hours.
  • Doctoral Student (achieved candidacy) & Master Students (last semester)  – fall & spring 6 credit hours, summer 3 credit hours

To apply for Student Work:

Download the SIU Student Center application and save it to your computer. Then, simply fill it out and:

  • Drop it off at the Student Center ID Office/Administrative Office, 2nd Floor
  • Email it (if filled out using Adobe Reader typewriter tool) to rkillian@siu.edu
  • Mail it to Rita Killian, 1255 Lincoln Drive, Carbondale IL, 62901-4407
